Custom School Spirit Pocket Notebooks Made in Yukon, Oklahoma
That is exactly how these custom pocket notebooks came together.
I had a small batch of brown leatherette notebooks in the shop and wanted to see how detailed school inspired artwork would engrave on them. Each notebook is approximately 5 by 3.5 inches, includes a pen, and is small enough to keep in a pocket, purse, backpack, desk drawer, or glove box.
The brown leatherette engraves black, which gives the designs a bold, high contrast look with a vintage feel.
These first samples were not part of an official school order. They were concept pieces created to test the material, artwork, and overall look of a possible new collection.
After seeing them finished, I think they turned out pretty dang cool.
Each school inspired design was created specifically around the identity of a local Oklahoma community.

Moore Lions
Each design combines mascot imagery, school lettering, local details, and custom scrollwork to give the notebook its own personality.
The Yukon Millers design includes the local Yukon Mill and Miller mascot, which gives it a little more hometown meaning beyond simply placing a school name on the cover.
The goal was to make each notebook feel connected to the community it represents while still having the handcrafted, vintage style that fits T6 Design Co.

Along with the school inspired designs, I also created a separate Coca Cola themed sample during the same test run.
That one was made to see how a nostalgic, non school design would engrave on the leatherette cover.
It helped confirm that these notebooks can work for more than school spirit designs. They could also be customized around hobbies, occupations, hometown themes, family names, vintage artwork, business logos, sports, or completely original ideas.
That is one of the things I enjoy most about custom laser engraving.

The artwork is created for the individual concept, prepared for engraving, and tested to make sure the details come through clearly on the leatherette surface.
The result is a dark, permanent engraving that contrasts against the brown cover without using stickers or vinyl.
Because these are handmade custom items, slight variations can happen from one notebook to the next. That is part of what makes them feel personal instead of mass produced.
